ommemoration of the 79th anniversary of the "National Day of Remembrance", May 8, 1945 - 2024

The Ambassador of Algeria to Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Mr. Toufik MILAT, presided over a ceremony commemorating the 79th anniversary of the "National Day of Remembrance", which took place at the headquarters of the Embassy.

On this occasion, the staff of the Embassy saluted the national flag, read the fatiha and observed a minute of silence in tribute to the martyrs of the massacres of May 8, 1945.

Taking the floor, the Ambassador recalled the historical facts that led to these massacres, of great magnitude, and which costed the live of more than 45000 Algerians. He also highlighted the extent of the sacrifices made by our ancestors so that Algeria could become free again.
