BIOGRAPHY
Mr. MILAT Toufik is a career diplomat. He joined the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1987 after completing his studies at the National School of Administration - Algiers, and fulfilling his military service.
At the Central Administration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. MILAT was particularly involved in relations and cooperation with the European partners. He was Deputy Director, then Director of Cooperation with the European Union and European Institutions, from 2003 to 2009.
He was also Director in charge of bilateral cooperation with European countries (2017-2019). Previously, he worked as Deputy Director for International Economic and Financial Affairs and also as Director, at the Ministry's Protocol, of Ceremonial, Official Visits and International Conferences (2015-2017).
Abroad, Mr. MILAT represented his country as First Secretary, then Counsellor in New Delhi (1991-1995) and as Minister-Counsellor in Tokyo (1999-2003). He held the high functions of Ambassador respectively in Cameroon (2009-2015), in the Kingdom of Spain (2019-2021) and, since June 2022, in Bosnia Herzegovina where he proceeded to the opening of the diplomatic Mission of Algeria.
Mr Milat has taken part to many regional and international conferences, mainly those organised within the Euro-Mediterranean framework.
Married and father of three children, Mr. MILAT Toufik was born in 1961, in Algiers.
