State Secretary Sofiane Chaib and Minister Noureddine Ouaddah Co-chair Virtual Meeting with Algerian Diaspora in Saudi Arabia

In line with the commitment to maintaining continuous engagement with the Algerian diaspora abroad, the Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, in charge of the National Community Abroad, Mr. Sofiane Chaib, co-chaired today via videoconference, alongside the Minister of Knowledge Economy, Start-ups and Micro-enterprises, Mr. Noureddine Ouaddah, an expanded meeting hosted by the Embassy of Algeria in Riyadh and the Consulate General of Algeria in Jeddah, with a panel of our citizens residing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This initiative forms part of a series of periodic meetings organized with members of our national community residing in this sisterly nation. It provided an opportunity to highlight the facilities and incentive mechanisms introduced by the State to enhance the developmental role of our citizens abroad in their homeland by leveraging their expertise and skills across various fields related to innovation, start-ups, and entrepreneurship, as well as reviewing the latest updates in national policy within this promising sector.

In his address on this occasion, the Secretary of State reaffirmed the central importance attached by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its diplomatic and consular missions to caring for and accompanying our community members abroad and strengthening their connection to the homeland. He emphasized the ongoing commitment to providing the optimal framework to support diaspora project leaders and economic operators, encouraging their active contribution to the country's economic momentum.

For his part, the Minister of Knowledge Economy, Start-ups and Micro-enterprises reviewed the key facilities and incentive mechanisms established by the State to support investment and entrepreneurship, inviting project holders and business leaders among our national community in Saudi Arabia to benefit from the promising opportunities offered by Algeria’s renewed business environment.

The meeting featured a comprehensive presentation on the start-up and entrepreneurship ecosystem in Algeria, followed by high-level discussions during which members of our national community reiterated their strong interest and readiness to contribute effectively to the national development process.
