President of the Republic Condoles Demise of Veteran Artist Ahmed Meziane Known as "Sid Ahmed Agoumi"

Message of Condolence from the President of the Republic to the Family of the Late Artist Ahmed Meziane, Known as "Sid Ahmed Agoumi," the Text of Which Follows:

Allah Akbar,

We were deeply paddened by the news of the passing of our friend, the late artist Ahmed Meziane (Sid Ahmed Agoumi), to the mercy of the Almighty. We share with you, alongside artists, intellectuals, and his vast audience of admirers, the profound grief over the loss of one of the most famous and refined figures whose artistic contributions spanned decades across our nation's cultural and artistic landscape.

With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to an accomplished actor and an intellectual deeply devoted to national culture and the authenticity of Algerian art, who left his distinct mark on more than fifty (50) local and international cinematic and television works, and shone with renowned professionalism in famous films such as Z.

As I share with you in these poignant moments the feelings of sorrow and pain over the loss of a figure whose theatrical and cinematic creations have resonated with generations since the 1960s — and whom I personally knew as a man of great stature and a friend endowed with a profound sense of patriotism and humanity —, I extend to you, and to the cultural and artistic community, my deepest condolences and most sincere sympathies, praying to the Almighty to grant you patience and solace, and to envelop our dear late departed in His vast mercy and forgiveness within His spacious Gardens.
