On the Sidelines of UN General Assembly: Minister of State Ahmed Attaf Holds Talks with Burkinabe Foreign Minister Karamoko Jean Marie Traoré

On the sidelines of the proceedings of the High-Level Week of the Eighty-First Session of the UN General Assembly, the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, held talks with Mr. Karamoko Jean Marie Traoré, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and Burkinabe Abroad of Burkina Faso.

During the meeting, the two ministers discussed the state of bilateral relations and prospects for reviving them within the framework of the current dynamic to strengthen ties between Algeria and Sahel countries, as well as the prominent security and developmental challenges facing the region.

The two sides agreed to continue consultations regarding upcoming bilateral milestones and to work on preparing and implementing a roadmap containing practical measures to impart a new impetus to Algerian-Burkinabe relations.

For his part, the head of Burkinabe diplomacy expressed his appreciation to Mr. Ahmed Attaf for his participation in the ministerial meeting organized by the Confederation of Sahel States during the High-Level Week of the current session, considering this participation to be a strong signal of Algeria's standing alongside these countries, its commitment to good neighborliness, and the bonds of geographical proximity and historical ties uniting the peoples of the region.
