On Margins of UNGA: Minister of State Ahmed Attaf Meets Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares

The Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, met today in New York with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain, Mr. José Manuel Albares.

The meeting provided an opportunity to review the state and prospects of deepening bilateral relations, with both sides expressing satisfaction with the positive dynamic marking cooperation between Algeria and Madrid, notably in the fields of energy, economic cooperation, and trade exchange. Discussions also addressed ongoing preparations for convening the upcoming Algerian-Spanish High-Level Meeting next October, the proceedings of which will include the organization of a business forum for operators from both countries.

Regionally and internationally, the two parties exchanged views on the evolving situation in the Sahel region and prospects for enhancing political dialogue and development cooperation to help anchor security and stability in the region's countries. The talks further touched upon developments in the Middle East and the importance of sustaining coordination and consultation on all issues of mutual concern.
