On Margins of UNGA: Minister of State Ahmed Attaf Meets Portuguese Counterpart Paulo Rangel

On the second day of his participation in the proceedings of the high-level segment of the Eighty-First Session of the United Nations General Assembly, the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, met with his counterpart from the Portuguese Republic, M. Paulo Rangel. The meeting provided an opportunity to review the state of privileged cooperation and partnership relations binding Algeria and Portugal, and to reaffirm the shared political will driving both countries to continue enhancing and deepening them to encompass other fields, serving their mutual interests.

The two parties also touched upon ongoing preparations ahead of upcoming bilateral milestones, agreeing on the importance of sustaining coordination and consultation to ensure their success.

The meeting likewise offered an opportunity to exchange views on cooperation relations between Algeria and the European Union, prospects for bolstering and developing them to the benefit of both sides, alongside a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern.
