On Margins of UNGA: Minister of State Ahmed Attaf Holds Talks with UN General Assembly President Khalil Al-Rahman

On the sidelines of his participation in the proceedings of the Eighty-First Session of the United Nations General Assembly, the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, held talks with the President of the United Nations General Assembly, Mr. Khalil Al-Rahman.

The meeting provided an opportunity to congratulate Mr. Khalil Al-Rahman on assuming the presidency of this vital body within the UN system and to reiterate Algeria's support for the missions entrusted to him, particularly in the context of the unprecedented campaigns targeting multilateral action.

The meeting also allowed both sides to commend the importance of cooperation between the General Assembly and the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), headed by Algeria's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York, Mr. Amar Bendjama, with a view to promoting international cooperation and accelerating the pace of embodying the targets of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, in a manner that safeguards the interests of all member states, especially countries of the Global South.
