On Margins of UNGA: Minister of State Ahmed Attaf Holds Talks with Mozambican Counterpart Maria Manuela dos Santos Lucas

Continuing his activities on the sidelines of his participation in the High-Level Week proceedings of the Eighty-First Session of the UN General Assembly, the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, held talks with his counterpart from the Republic of Mozambique, Ms. Maria Manuela dos Santos Lucas. Discussions focused on reviewing the state of bilateral relations and prospects for enhancing them, notably through the exchange of visits and the development of cooperation across several fields. Both sides expressed their satisfaction with the positive dynamic characterizing relations between the two countries.

In this context, Mr. Ahmed Attaf reaffirmed Algeria's commitment to advancing relations with Mozambique, particularly through materializing a set of projects in alignment with the deep bonds of cooperation and solidarity that have long united the two sisterly countries, alongside opening a direct air route between Algiers and Maputo.

For her part, Ms. dos Santos Lucas emphasized the importance her country attaches to its relations with Algeria and to implementing the outcomes of the visit paid by the former President of the Republic of Mozambique to Algeria in 2024, commending the notable progress achieved in bilateral cooperation across numerous fields, notably energy, industry, the pharmaceutical industry, and counter-terrorism.
