On Behalf of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune: PM Sifi Ghrieb Attends Funeral of Wildfire Victims in Jijel

On behalf of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Prime Minister, Mr. Sifi Ghrieb, accompanied by several members of the Government, attended on Friday, August 28, 2026, the funeral ceremony for the victims of the wildfires that struck the province of Jijel.

The burial ceremony took place at the Dar El Baqa cemetery in the area of Djemaa Beni Habibi, in a solemn atmosphere marked by grief and sorrow, in the presence of the victims' families, local authorities, and a large gathering of citizens who came to share in the families' profound loss and offer their condolences during this painful time.

The victims were laid to rest amid deep emotion, reflecting the extent of the tragedy that befell the families in the province of Jijel, which sparked a nationwide wave of grief and solidarity.

On this sorrowful occasion, Prime Minister Mr. Sifi Ghrieb paid tribute to the souls of the wildfire victims, praying to Almighty God to grant them His vast mercy and forgiveness, admit them to His spacious Paradise, and grant their loved ones patience and solace.

He also prayed to Almighty God for the swift and full recovery of the injured and to protect Algeria and its people from all harm.
