Mr. Lounes Magramane Receives the Secretary-General of the "Middle East Green Initiative"

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Lounes Magramane, received today, August 4, 2026, at the Ministry's headquarters, Mr. Ibrahim bin Muhammad Al-Turki, Secretary-General of the Middle East Green Initiative (MGI), within the framework of his working visit to Algeria.
The meeting provided an opportunity to review cooperation opportunities and prospects with the organization in priority areas, in alignment with our country's vision regarding sustainable development and climate change issues, in implementation of the directives of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in this field. Both sides also discussed ongoing preparations for Algeria's upcoming presidency of the Initiative's Ministerial Council for the 2027 term.
Furthermore, the meeting served as an occasion to emphasize the importance of enhancing regional environmental cooperation to address climate challenges, particularly desertification, land degradation, and drought.
