Mr. Lounes Magramane Receives His Nigerian Counterpart, Mr. Ahmed Dunoma Umar

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Lounes Magramane, received this Tuesday, August 4, 2026, Mr. Ahmed Dunoma Umar, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as part of his visit to Algeria.

The meeting provided an opportunity to review the historical relations of friendship, cooperation, and consultation uniting Algeria and Nigeria on the political, economic, and energy fronts, particularly through the major strategic partnership projects launched by both countries to boost development and strengthen infrastructure across the African continent. Specifically, special emphasis was placed on the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline (TSGP), the Trans-Saharan Highway, and the Trans-Saharan Fiber Optic Backbone projects, for which both parties reaffirmed their commitment to implementation.

Furthermore, both sides discussed the agenda of upcoming visits and bilateral cooperation mechanisms scheduled for the second half of this year, exchanging views on key regional and international issues of common interest.
