Minister of State Ahmed Attaf Receives Phone Call from Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed ben Abdulrahman Al Thani

The Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, received a phone call this morning, September 15, 2026, from His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed ben Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the sisterly State of Qatar.
During the phone call, the two sides discussed regional developments, particularly efforts aimed at achieving calm and de-escalation in the Gulf region. In this context, the Minister of State commended the pivotal role played by the State of Qatar in de-escalation efforts, while renewing Algeria's condemnation of the blatant violations of sovereignty and attacks on territorial integrity faced by countries in the region.
The two officials also reviewed the state of bilateral relations between Algeria and the State of Qatar, expressing satisfaction with the positive momentum characterizing bilateral cooperation across various fields, and affirming their shared keenness to continue strengthening and expanding its horizons to serve the mutual interests of the two sisterly countries.
Furthermore, the two sides touched upon ongoing preparations for the convening of the 6th session of the Joint High Algerian-Qatari Commission, underlining the importance of this milestone in imparting a new impetus to bilateral cooperation and elevating it to broader horizons that meet the aspirations of the leaderships and peoples of the two sisterly nations.
