Minister of State Ahmed Attaf Holds Talks with His South African Counterpart Ronald Lamola in Algiers

Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, held talks this morning, October 15, 2026, with the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa, Mr. Ronald Lamola, shortly before co-chairing the proceedings of the ministerial meeting dedicated to following up on the implementation of the outcomes of the 7th Session of the Algerian-South African High Binational Commission for Cooperation, held in Algiers in December 2024.
On this occasion, the two Ministers reviewed the state of bilateral relations and their development prospects, within the framework of realizing the supreme directives of the leaders of both nations aimed at strengthening the strategic partnership uniting Algeria and the Republic of South Africa. They also assessed the progress made in implementing bilateral commitments and worked toward translating the objectives set forth in the Strategic Partnership Declaration, signed in December 2024, into concrete projects and practical results that reflect the depth of relations between the two countries and their shared aspirations.
Furthermore, the meeting served as an important platform for exchanging views on several regional and international issues of common concern, as well as ways to enhance coordination and consultation between the two nations within the African Union, the United Nations, and various multilateral forums, particularly regarding developments in the Middle East and the Western Sahara issue.
