Minister of State Ahmed Attaf Holds Talks with Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov

As part of his official visit to the Republic of Belarus, the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, met this morning with his counterpart, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Mr. Maxim Ryzhenkov.
On this occasion, the two ministers held a one-on-one meeting, followed by an expanded bilateral talk session involving delegation members from both countries.
The discussions centered on a comprehensive review of Algerian-Belarusian bilateral relations, particularly regarding the progress made in implementing the action plan adopted during the official visit of the President of the Republic of Belarus to Algeria in December 2025.
The talks also provided an opportunity to explore ways to strengthen the positive momentum in bilateral relations and elevate the partnership to broader horizons, in line with the directives of the two countries' leaderships and the aspirations of their peoples. Priority areas highlighted included industry, trade, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and mining. Both sides agreed to convene the second session of the Joint Algerian-Belarusian Commission before the end of this year, as the most effective mechanism to monitor the fulfillment of past commitments and explore new avenues of cooperation.
Furthermore, Mr. Ahmed Attaf exchanged views and analysis with his Belarusian counterpart on key current international and regional issues of common interest amidst rising international tensions, stressing the necessity of abiding by international law, promoting multilateral action, and prioritizing peaceful and diplomatic solutions to international conflicts.
At the conclusion of the talks, both ministers delivered a statement to the media outlining the main points and priorities agreed upon for implementation in the near future.
