Concluding His Participation in UN High-Level Week in New York, Minister of State Ahmed Attaf Meets UN Secretary-General António Guterres, Discussing Major International and Regional Challenges

At the conclusion of his participation in the proceedings of the High-Level Week of the Eighty-First Session of the UN General Assembly, the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, met with Mr. António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations.

The meeting served as an opportunity to review the state of international relations and discuss prominent challenges facing multilateral action and the United Nations amid mounting crises and tensions worldwide.

The two sides also addressed efforts aimed at de-escalation and enhancing security and stability in the Middle East and the Gulf, alongside UN efforts to support peace and security on the African continent.

Furthermore, the discussions touched upon updates regarding the negotiation process on the question of Western Sahara, and prospects for advancing the UN track toward a political settlement of the conflict, in line with relevant resolutions of international legitimacy.
