The Embassy of Algeria in Bosnia and Herzegovina Commemorates National Emigration Day (October 17, 1961–2026)

The Embassy of Algeria in Bosnia and Herzegovina commemorated National Emigration Day, marking the 65th anniversary of the October 17, 1961 demonstrations, under the theme: "From the Depths of Memory to the Horizons of the Future" (October 17, 1961 – October 17, 2026).
Following a minute of silence observed by embassy diplomats and members of the national community residing in Bosnia and Herzegovina in tribute to the martyrs of the October 17, 1961 massacres, attendees reverently listened to the National Anthem before reciting the Opening Chapter of the Holy Qur'an (Al-Fatiha) in memory of our glorious Martyrs.
On this occasion, His Excellency Ambassador Mohammed Meraimi received a group of Algerian professionals, students, and representatives from the Association of the Algerian Community in Sarajevo.
The gathering served as an important platform to listen to the concerns of our esteemed diaspora and exchange views on optimal mechanisms for addressing its needs, while bolstering its presence across the social, economic, and cultural dimensions of life in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
