Minister of State Ahmed Attaf Co-Chairs the 6th Session of the Algerian-Senegalese Joint Grand Commission with His Senegalese Counterpart

Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, co-chaired this morning in Algiers, alongside Mr. Cheikh Niang, Minister of African Integration, Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Abroad of the sisterly Republic of Senegal, the proceedings of the 6th session of the Algerian-Senegalese Joint Grand Commission.
The proceedings of the Joint Commission were preceded by a Tête-à-Tête meeting between the two ministers, followed by expanded talks involving the delegations of both countries.
The convening of the Joint Grand Commission marked a significant milestone in embodying the shared determination of both nations to inject new momentum into their fraternal relations, and to translate the supreme directives of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and his brother, the President of the Republic of Senegal, Mr. Bassirou Diomaye Faye, into concrete steps aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation and broadening its scope.
In this context, the discussions allowed for an assessment of various areas of cooperation between Algeria and Senegal and the identification of new goals and priorities across key sectors, including economic cooperation — such as investment, energy, mining, industry, agriculture, air transport, and finance — as well as human capital development, including higher education, media, youth and sports, justice, culture, and women's empowerment.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the two ministers signed the agreed minutes of the Joint Grand Commission session, as well as 15 agreements and memorandums of understanding, thereby enriching the legal framework governing Algerian-Senegalese relations.
